The heritage of the 62GS and Grand Seiko
This is a modern reinterpretation of the celebrated 62GS from 1967, a historic watch from Grand Seiko’s Heritage Collection. The 62GS was not only the first Grand Seiko watch with an automatic movement, but also, together with the 44GS launched in the same year, established the Grand Seiko Style. This style, characterised by sharp edges and perfect surfaces, continues to influence all current Grand Seiko designs.
Elegant design with Zaratsu polishing
Like its predecessor, this modern reinterpretation of the Heritage Collection retains the distinctive features of the 62GS. It is distinguished by sharp edges and distortion-free surfaces, achieved by the unique Zaratsu polishing. The wide opening of the dial, facilitated by a bezel-less construction, enhances the elegance and sophistication of the watch.
Deep green dial inspired by Rikka
The deep green dial of this model evokes the sights and sounds of Rikka, the seventh of the twenty-four sekki or seasons of the year in Japan. With the passing of spring, the rising heat of the sun heralds the onset of summer. During this season, Japan’s plants turn a deeper green and sway gently in the Kumpu wind.
Automatic calibre 9S85 and high quality craftsmanship
The watch is powered by the high alternation automatic calibre 9S85 and assembled by hand by the skilled craftsmen of the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. This combination of precision and craftsmanship ensures exceptional performance and a unique wearing experience.
