Grand Seiko Heritage Collection 40mm

This Hi-Beat 36000 watch is a new interpretation of the Grand Seiko Style. The dial is light blue in colour and has the texture of the snow that begins to melt in spring on Mount Iwate, the imposing 2038-metre-high peak near the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, where all Grand Seiko mechanical models are made.

The combination of a flat dial and a wide aperture lets in light and creates an ever-changing background highlighting the multi-faceted, razor-sharp indexes and the hour and minute hands. Zaratsu polishing provides a perfect mirror finish with no distortion on the upper surfaces of the case. The 12 o’clock index is twice as wide as the others to make the time easily legible at any reading angle. The result is a bright, radiant dial with high legibility that expresses Grand Seiko’s unique Japanese character and heritage.
For the first time in a conventional Grand Seiko creation, Ever-Brilliant Steel* is used not only for the case but also for the bracelet. This high-quality steel has a shiny appearance and a very high level of corrosion resistance that guarantees the durability of the watch. The use of this advanced material is in perfect harmony with Grand Seiko’s latest movement, the Calibre 9SA5, which offers the enhanced precision that only a high alternation movement can offer with a power reserve of 80 hours. * This stainless steel has a PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) value 1.7 times higher than the steel used in most high-end watches. PREN is a widely accepted standard used to measure corrosion resistance.
