With Evolution 9 styling, water resistant to 200 metres and the blue ‘ushio’ dial initially seen in 2022 in black, the new reference SLGA023 is Grand Seiko’s latest dive watch. Beneath its distinctive stamped dial is the Spring Drive Calibre 9RA5, a next-generation movement with automatic winding, accuracy of ±10 seconds per month and a power reserve of 120, or about five days, when fully wound.
The Evolution 9 style is a set of original design techniques aimed at further enhancing the usability and beauty of wristwatches and is an outgrowth of the Grand Seiko Style. This sports watch combines these design elements with compliance with ISO standards to meet the requirements of a diver’s watch, with enhanced legibility, operability and robustness.

Japan’s coastal waters are influenced by the flow of the Kuroshio Current, one of the world’s major ocean currents, as well as the nutrient-rich waters of the Oyashio Current, which create one of the world’s most diverse ocean faunas. The dynamic waves of these ocean currents are expressed in the powerful pattern of this watch’s dial, surrounded by a unidirectional rotating bezel with a ceramic insert. The dial and bezel are Grand Seiko blue.
