SBGE257 has a dial whose colour echoes the deep green of one of the 2,000 types of moss that can be found in Japan. There is something timeless about the moss that thrives at the base of trees or on stones in the garden, which is why it is so often used in Bonsai to create the sense of time passing inexorably. This sense is reinforced by the sliding movement of the Spring Drive seconds hand as it moves continuously and silently across the dial.
Equipped with a GMT hand, this watch features Grand Seiko’s exclusive Spring Drive calibre, which combines the driving force of a real spring like a mechanical watch with the high precision of a quartz watch. Its hands have a fully sliding and silent movement without ever ticking.
It is mounted in a water-resistant stainless steel case with a ceramic bezel. It has a 24-hour GMT hand and Lumibrite indexes for exceptional precision and legibility.
