This is the Grand Seiko Diver watch powered by the Spring Drive Caliber 9RA5, which offers an accuracy rate of ± 10 seconds per month and a power reserve of five days. It is made of high-intensity titanium, a material that is 30% lighter than stainless steel and even more impervious to scratches and corrosion. To further enhance its durability, the rotating bezel is made of ceramic to protect the watch from scratches.
The dial is deep black and has a heavily patterned surface, inspired by a particular aspect of the oceans surrounding the Japanese archipelago, which are criss-crossed by powerful water currents. One of these is the Kuroshio Current, also known as the Black Current. It flows northwards past Japan towards the Arctic North Pacific and is one of the largest ocean currents in the world. The dynamic and sometimes violent tides caused by the Kuroshio Current inspire the deep black colour and richly textured surface of the dial of this new 200m diving watch. Ref. SLGA015G
