A brief history:
Aurelio Marcos Bartual, the founder of Joyería Marcos, was a businessman who had a wide range of interests. He studied law at university and was a professional football player on the team of the Real Madrid. His main business activity was as a real estate developer. He was the developer of the tallest building of Malaga in the 1950’s, located at the Plaza de la Marina. One of his hobbies was gemology and jewelry, and he wrote several books and treatises of great value on the subject. So it seems natural that in 1942 he decided to open a shop devoted to selling watches and jewels on the city’s main street, calle Marques de Larios.
In the mid-70’s his son Aurelio Marcos García took over the management of the jewelry store, and in the 1980’s the family’s third generation, that is the founder’s grandchildren, took over. Following the renovation carried out in 2003, Joyeria Marcos continued to update the shop in order to improve clients’ shopping experience, the most recent example of which has been the incorporation of this new Rolex area.
